Internships and Research Opportunities

We invite local and international students and researchers to collaborate with us on impactful studies in the following areas:

1. Forest Inventory and Management Planning

  • Conducting forest inventory studies to support the development of management plans for forests across Kenya.

2. Socio-Economic Research

  • Investigating the socio-economic dynamics of Forest Adjacent Communities (FACs) in different forest blocks of Kenya.

3. Vegetation Monitoring and Remote Sensing

  • Using remote sensing techniques to monitor vegetation trends and assess the impact of changing land use patterns on forest cover.

4. Nature-Based Enterprises

  • Exploring potential nature-based enterprises in forest blocks to promote sustainable livelihoods for local communities.

5. Community Management Structures

  • Developing innovative community management frameworks to empower FACs and CFAs to sustainably manage forest resources.

We also encourage linkages with research institutions to enhance knowledge-sharing and innovation in forest conservation practices.
